"An attendee at the talk on the 5th January" -

"Thank You So Much George for your very entertaining and informative, The Art of Bird Photography" talk on the 5th January at Henfield Camera Club. Having been a member for a year it was the biggest turnout of members and guests I had ever seen at the Club. Apparently they also managed to swell the "Purchase of exhibition boards fund" quite considerably from the entrance fees and raffle. Your patience and knowledge dealing with all of the questions at the end of your presentation was much appreciated. Thank you again.

Linda M. Howard, L.R.P.S."

Hi George - Again many thanks for stepping in at short notice for yesterday’s talk. We’ve already had 20 survey responses in and 100% of the respondents want to see you come back to the club. Some of the comments received are below:

“George was very enthusiastic about his subject and was interesting to listen too. It was good to hear about the history of wildlife photography and some of the difficulties early pioneers faced”

“High quality beautifully taken bird images with excellent communication skills”

“Superb! Very amusing and so knowledgeable”

“Very interesting and informative. Just the right amount of humour"

So we’re really looking forward to your talk on 22nd November!

Simon Bedwell - Programme Secretary for Tandridge Photographic Society

Dear George, On behalf of Ludshott Photographic Club please accept my thanks for the fascinating presentation “The Art of Bird Photography you gave us on Monday. I’m sorry the set-up of the sound system took a little while but you judged the pace of the presentation to perfection.

Ludshott has quite a number of members who are fans of nature photography, and one or two who “do birds”, but as one of those I have to say I was blown away by your photographs. Personal favourites? For me it has to be the great white egrets in breeding plumage and the stone curlew – the little knot of blue flowers in the background adds so much to that shot.

In addition to a series of great pictures the insights into the history of bird photography, the section on the use of hides and the many tips on composition all added to the enjoyment of the evening.

Once again, many thanks. I hope the applause at the end of the evening conveyed the appreciation that was felt by our members. Kind regards.

John Wichall ARPS DPAGB Hon Sec Ludshott Photographic Club.

It was great to see you again a couple of weeks ago and to use your knowledge for an image that I was intending to put into a club competition. That image received a perfect 10, one of only 2 awarded last night, and some very nice comments from one of the toughest judges that we have seen in the last four years of my time at the club.

Kind Regards Neil Clifton (Workshop Client)

I've had six excellent photographic workshops with you this year. Recently I've taken pictures of another 45 fungi species on four of these days, which were new to me. My thanks also to Ann for her help and sharp eye.

Regards Peter Blood

Many thanks for a fabulous presentation at Ludshott Photographic Club last night. Your book on fungi is quite amazing. I was introduced to your work by Ann Jacobs, who came along with me to your presentation last night.

Many thanks Yvonne Lindup.

Hi George. Thoroughly enjoyed your talk last night at Reflex camera club. My friends and I travelled from Canterbury to see you and it was well worth the journey. I shall be passing your details to our programme Secretary. I’d like to receive your news -letter too please.

Wendy Kennett. Secretary Canterbury Photographic Society.

Hi George, Just to say thank for a brilliant evening at the Reflex C C last night came away with a lot of knowledge to improve our photography and your images are absolutely stunning. Once again thank you.

Kind regards David and Rose Hayward

George - I’ve sent a couple of images of the Little Owl set-up. Actually, you were largely responsible for it. I don’t know if you remember, but several years ago I told you of a pair of Little Owls that had taken over a box I had fixed to an oak tree next to my house. At the time you said, “Your images will be limited only by your imagination”. This has always stuck in my mind and it is an approach I apply to all my photography.

Thanks Phil Winter
