- Inventory objects will be written in bold. The walkthrough will state, “Use the inventory item on the blah blah,” because it assumes you have the item. If you don’t have the item, on your keyboard, press CTRL+F (at the same time). In the text box, type the name of the item you are looking for and press ENTER. This will scan the page for the appearance of that word.

- Click and drag the hands to their appropriate numbers. If you can’t click and drag a hand over another, let go and click and drag another. For example, I couldn’t click and drag the hand with the square over the hand with the diamond so I let go and clicked and dragged the hand with the diamond over the hand with the square.
- Solution: In the Case Report, in each design, count how many symbols there are. I had 17 triangles, 11 diamonds and 16 squares so I moved the appropriate hands to the appropriate numbers.

- Use the screwdriver to undo the screws at each corner.
- Rearrange the cubes so the symbols line up as they did above the piano keys. Each game might be different. In my game, the jester hat was on top, then the flower, then the fleur de lys. The buttons along the bottom will move the columns up one or down one, and the buttons on either side will move the rows. Use the buttons to line up all the symbols, playing around with them until you get a good sense of what moves what. Line up the top row, then line the middle row. Note: you cannot skip this puzzle.

- The key with 81 on it has moved and there’s a little silver switch. Click it. Then click off the vignette click on top of the piano. The numbers you had just clicked are still depressed. If they are in the next solution, leave them depressed, if not, click them to reset them. Repeat the steps for the remaining numbers.
- Solution:
o 81 = 1+16+64
o 55 = 4+1+36+16+2
o 114 = 32+16+2+64
o 7 = 4+1+2
o 94 = 4+16+2+8+64
- Note: if you are afraid of spiders, a small one comes scuttling across the wires. It’s not that bad.
- Once completed, take the map pieces. Return to Magnolia’s room (south, north, east then west).
- Click on the wooden box on the windowsill and place all the crayons inside. Talk to Magnolia. Click on the doll on the fireplace to move it, then click on the jewellery box.

Clicking on a tile (tile with star in screenshot above) will also move the tiles that border it, but not tiles diagonal to them. The tiles that are bolted (pointed to by arrow in screenshot above) in cannot be moved however clicking them will move the tiles they border.
- To solve, start with the top row (left) and work your way down in a serpentine fashion as it’s easier to end at the bottom right (because of how the bolted down tiles are positioned).

Click on each painting and use the scissors to cut the canvas (about three clicks). You then have to solve a puzzle.
- In the dining room:
- Complete the picture. Click on a tile and move it up or down to move its entire row or move it left or right to move its entire column. Once you are done, take the map pieces.
- In the main hallway:
- Complete the picture. Click the blocks to move them either up or down (if possible), or separate them. Once you are done, take the map pieces.

- In the screenshot above, there are symbols that are highlighted by a yellow square. In between each symbol set are six snippets of the map. Get a pencil and a piece of paper. Draw one of the symbols. Then look at the first map snippet and find where it is on the map (a few examples are in the screenshot above). Write down the Roman numeral that appears near it. Do this for all the symbols’ snippets as you will need this information to solve three mini-puzzles. For the top row, write the numbers down based on how their map snippet appears from left to right. For the two side rows, write the numbers down based on how their map snippet appears from top to bottom. Click on the map to zoom in to take a closer look. Note: you don’t need to know what the Roman numerals are; you just need to write it down exactly as it appears.
- Go to the swamp (south three scenes, east twice then enter the swamp and go north once more).
- Click on the old cannon in the water. Note the symbol. Read the instructions above. Starting with the first numeral, press its buttons (for example, if your Roman numeral combination was III, IV, XXVI, etc., press the “I” button three times, then press “I” “V”, then “X” “X” “V” “I” and so forth). There are six small buttons below the symbol. When you enter a correct Roman number combination, a button will depress. Once all six have been depressed, the cannon will rise.
- Click on the raised cannon. Click to open it and take the four skulls. Click off the vignette. Go east.

- Take the hidden Crown insignia and the metal detector. Click off the vignette. Go to their yard (south twice).
- Use the metal detector on the yard. Move it around until the light turns green and it makes a steady noise (i.e., no beeping). Click and then the metal detector is replaced by the shovel. Click to dig (about three times). If you click on the wrong spot with the shovel, simply take it again from your inventory and keep trying. The trick is to not move the mouse when the two items switch. Once you are finished digging, take the gold piece.
- Go to the carriage house’s lawn (south three scenes, then east, then north).
- Use the metal detector on the lawn. When you’ve found the correct position, click to get the shovel, then click to dig (about three times). Take the gold piece. Go to the side of tavern (south, east, north twice, then go to the left of the tavern).
- Use the metal detector on the ground. When you’ve found the correct position, click to get the shovel, then click to dig (about three times). Take the hidden Crown insignia and the gold piece. Go to the mausoleum in the graveyard (south five scenes, then northwest twice, then west and go through the gate).
- Click on the crypt wall.
- Place the three gold pieces in the empty slots. The top of each coin has a tiny pointer and has to be turned in a specific direction. To determine which direction, pull each chain as far as it can go; look for a piece of gold to appear behind the coin’s fixture (see arrow in screenshot above). Click to turn the coin so its pointer points to where the piece of gold was.
- To pull the chain all the way down, click on the top of the chain and pull your mouse downwards, as far as it will let you. When the chain starts to retract, click on it again and pull downwards. Continue until you’ve pulled the chain all the way down.
- Do these steps for all four coins.
- When the mouth opens, take the medallion piece. If the mouth doesn’t open, ensure you are pulling the chains as far down as they can go. Return to the house and go down to the secret room in the wine cellar (south five scenes, then north twice, west, east, north and down the stairs, then north).
- Click on the statue.
- Place the two medallion pieces in the slot. Press the lever, then take skull XIII. Go to the swamp clearing (south seven scenes, east twice, enter the swamp, north, east then north).
- Click on the alligator’s nest.
- This is the diagram on which to place the skulls. To determine which skull to place where, go to your Case Report to find the diagram with all the numbers (you found this when you went through the mausoleum and opened the chest’s combination switching the name Ashwin Poncer to Phineas Crown). Take a pencil and paper and sketch out the diagram.
- Place the skulls onto their appropriate position. To remove a skull from a position, click on it to return it to the inventory. Once you’ve positioned all the skulls correctly, a cutscene begins.
End of game!
Bonus Chapter
- If you are returned to the main menu, click Play.
- Move towards the ship.
- Pick up the three small rocks. Throw the three small rocks at the rope until it falls. Climb the rope to board the ship.
- Go up the stairs to the upper deck (either side, it doesn’t matter).
- Click on the steering well to trigger an objective hunt; you have to find the steering wheel pegs. Click off the vignette. Click on the barrels to start a hidden object hunt.
- Find all the objects. A cannonball is added to your inventory. Return to the main deck (south).
- Use the cannonball to break the grate. Drop it on the grate, then pick it up to add it back to your inventory, then take it again. It takes about three drops to break the grate. Once it’s broken, go down into the hold.
- Take the two wheel pegs. Click on the murky water.
- Move the debris around to find the remaining four wheel pegs. Return to the steering wheel (south twice, then up the stairs).
- Click on the steering wheel. Add the six wheel pegs. Click to turn the wheel. Click off the vignette. Click on the barrels to start a hidden object hunt.
- Find all the objects. Rope is added to your inventory. Return to the ship’s hold (south then down the grate) and go forward towards the harpoon gun (if you can’t, go back up to the upper deck and turn the steering wheel).
- Click on the chest to start a hidden object hunt.
- Find all the objects. A sword is added to your inventory. Put the rope on the harpoon, then click to shoot it. Move to the next ship.
- Go to the upper deck.
- Click on the mast. Use the sword to cut the rope (about four clicks). When the sail drops, take the telescope. Return to the harpoon scene on the first ship (south twice). Click on the chest to start a hidden object hunt.
- Find all the objects. A piece of flint is added to your inventory. Go back to the other ship (north) and go through the hole on the floor to the cannon room.
- Click on the ledger.
- Mini-puzzle: Each number is surrounded by four pegs. The number of pegs to be pressed down is determined by its number. For example, 0 can have no pegs pressed down, 1 can only have one peg pressed down, etc. Start at 4 and press all its pegs down. Once the ledger opens, click on it to trigger an objective hunt; find all the ledger pieces. Click off the vignette. Click on the cannon.
- Take a cannonball, then add it to the cannon. Move the cannon (click and hold your mouse and run it towards the tip of the cannon) to aim it at the crow’s nest (see screenshot). Use the piece of flint to light the fuse. If you don’t knock down the debris blocking the crow’s nest, keep trying. Go back to the main deck (south twice).
- Take the ledger pieces from the second ship’s main deck and upper deck. Return to the first ship (south twice) and take the ledger pieces from the storeroom, main deck, and upper deck. Then go up the crow’s nest (click north twice). Take the ledger piece. Place the telescope on the base. Look through the telescope.
- Move the telescope around with your mouse. The trick is to drag your mouse as far down as it can go (just keep pulling the mouse towards you). Eventually it will reveal the bottom of the boat and you will see the name written. Click off the vignette. Return to the main deck (south three times). Move towards the cabin door.
- To solve this puzzle, you need to have used the telescope to see the name on the other ship. By clicking on the letters, spell the name of the ship backwards. Before the track resets, take note (or write down) the letters it scrambled. When you respell the name, take into account the letters it scrambled. For example, in my game, the name was RUBYLEE. By pressing E-E-L-Y-B-U-R, the track scrambled it to read R-B-U-Y-E-L-E. I adjusted accordingly by switching the E-L and the B-U. When the door opens, enter it.
- Click on the chest to start a hidden object hunt.
- Find all the objects. A treasure chest key is added to your inventory. Return to the hold of the second ship (south, through the hole in the floor, north twice, then through the hole on the floor). Click on the ledger on the barrel. Place all the ledger pieces. Go to the main deck (south).
- Click on the cabin door. Solve the same puzzle that you did to open the ledger. Go inside the room.
- Click on the chest. Use the treasure chest key to open the padlock. Look inside the chest at all your insignia cards. Leave and return to the first ship’s cabin (south four times, then go through the door). From the treasure room, go east to the captain’s table.
- To properly place each skull, open the Case Report and take note of the description of each pirate. Starting from the bottom left and working upwards in a U shape, place:
- 5 – dandy (rings), 3 – duel (pistol), 2 – drunk (slumped over), 4 – double-crosser (back stabbing), 8 – enfeebled (hook hand), 7 – astronomer (stars on coat), 10 – minstrel (lute), 13 – nurse (the woman, I’m not being sexist, they’re pirates), 6 – cook (don’t know why, powers of deduction), 11 – chronicler (plume in hand), 12 – dwarf (shortest), 9 – wealthy veteran (officer’s coat), 1 – gambler (card).
- Once you’ve correctly placed the skulls, a video starts and the game is over.
The end!
